As we have searched for (and planned for) solar PV systems my wife and I have found ourselves trying to balance performance and esthetics. Pole mounted tracking PV arrays clearly outperform roof mounted and other fixed systems. My wife isn’t sure she is sold on any sytem based on it’s impact on the “look” of the system – until now. Recently we were visiting Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and saw these pole mounted tracking systems and she loved them. Solar PV goes “artsy”. Depending on the final cost, I could see a cluster of 3 or 4 flower shaped PV arrays out on our farm (the ultimate sun flowers).
